How to Set Up S1 Hardware Wallet
Welcome to the SafePal family! Taking full control of your crypto assets starts with setting up your SafePal S1 hardware wallet correctly. This guide will walk you through the entire process, from unboxing to your first transaction.
Your recovery phrase is the ONLY way to access and recover your funds. Never share it with anyone, never take a screenshot of it, and never type it into any computer or phone.
Step 1: Unbox and Verify Authenticity
Carefully unbox your SafePal S1 and check for any signs of tampering. Look for the authenticity hologram and inspect the packaging to ensure it's sealed and legitimate. If the seal appears broken, contact support immediately.
Step 2: Power On the Device
Press and hold the power button on the side of the SafePal S1 to turn it on. You will see the SafePal logo.
Step 3: Device Initialization
- Select Language: Use the D-pad to navigate and select your preferred language.
- Device Authentication: The device will display a QR code. Use your phone camera to scan it (you don't need the app yet) to verify the device is genuine on the SafePal website.
- Create New Wallet: Select "Create New Wallet" on the device screen.
Step 4: Generate Recovery Phrase
The device will now generate your Mnemonic Phrase (12, 18, or 24 words).
- Write down every word on the provided recovery cards in the exact order shown.
- Double-check the spelling of every word.
- The device will ask you to verify the phrase by selecting the correct words from a list to ensure you wrote them down correctly.
Step 5: Set a PIN Code
Create a strong PIN code (6-12 digits). This PIN will be required every time you turn on the device or sign a transaction.
Step 6: Pair with SafePal App
To manage your assets, you need to pair the "Cold Wallet" (the S1 device) with the "Hot" interface (the App).
- Download the SafePal App from the App Store or Google Play.
- Open the app and select "Add Wallet" > "Hardware Wallet".
- The App will show a QR code. On your S1 device, select "Scan" and scan the code on your phone.
- Enter your PIN on the S1 to authorize the connection.
- The S1 will now show a set of dynamic QR codes. Use the SafePal App to scan these codes from the device screen.
Congratulations! Your S1 Hardware Wallet is now set up and paired. You can now start adding coins and managing your portfolio securely.
